Long An - While eating hot pot at a restaurant, a gas tank suddenly exploded, burning 2 female teachers and 7 elementary and middle school students.

On the afternoon of January 12, information from the Long An Department of Education and Training said that early this afternoon, a number of teachers and students at Bac Hoa Primary and Secondary School (Tan Thanh District, Long An Province) finished organizing cultural and artistic activities and went to a restaurant in Tan Thanh town to eat.

While eating hot pot, a gas tank in the hot pot kitchen suddenly exploded, burning 2 teachers and 7 students (2 elementary school students and 5 middle school students).

Immediately afterwards, the remaining teachers and the restaurant owner quickly took the injured teachers and students to be treated for their injuries, including an 8th grade student who was seriously injured and was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital for treatment.

The local education sector is keeping track of the situation from families and monitoring seriously ill students to coordinate solutions.
