Implementing the direction of Quang Ninh province in enhancing safety in serving tourists visiting and staying in Ha Long Bay, from today (8.), the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command (CHQS) will arrange military ships and 2 mobile boats, deploying patrols 24/24 hours a day in Ha Long Bay.
Accordingly, military ships and mobile boats patrol from 7am to 6am every day on tourist routes of Ha Long Bay, including arranging a permanent ship to blockade Ti Top Island.
From 6pm to 7am the next day, mobile ships returned to Tuan Chau Island to organize a 24/7 duty, ensuring full-time duty.
Colonel Vu Ngoc Son - Deputy Commander of the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command - said: On average, each team is deployed with 6-8 people, including information teams and medical teams. The military medical ship is also equipped with 4 rescue tanks and oxygen tanks, fire tanks... to be ready to participate in search and rescue in Ha Long Bay when situations arise.
The purpose of increasing patrol and checkpointing ships is to ensure safety for tourist ships on Ha Long Bay, creating trust for tourists visiting Ha Long Bay.
Along with the Provincial Military Command, the provincial authorities have also increased inspections of safety conditions at wharves. Many working groups were deployed to patrol closely on the canals, coordinating with port authorities. The Department of Construction conducts a surprise inspection of compliance with regulations on ensuring safety of waterway traffic on tourist boats when these vehicles anchor at tourist attractions waiting for tourists.
