On May 14, Mr. Cao Dinh Triet - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Transport Works (BQLDA) of Khanh Hoa province - confirmed that he had met with Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, the construction contractor is Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 18, the design consultant is T27 Consulting Joint Stock Company and the supervision consultant is Thang Long Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company.
The meeting was held to find solutions to the subsidence at Ngoc Hoi intersection project in Nha Trang city.
It is expected that tomorrow (May 15), Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company will coordinate with a consulting unit from Da Nang City to peel part of the plastic layer in the subsidence area of Ngoc Hoi intersection project to inspect and determine the cause of the incident.
According to Mr. Triet, after having the inspection results, the Management Board will report to the Provincial People's Committee and request the investor, Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, to repair and thoroughly overcome the subsidence in the project's roundabout area.
According to records, the subsidence phenomenon at the Ngoc Hoi intersection roundabout has lasted for nearly a month now. The subsidence is U-shaped, about 5m long, with some points sunk 3-5cm deep from the bridge surface. The subsidence area is located opposite the N4 branch - still under construction.
The incident has made many people worried about the safety of the project when the project has only been in operation for 19 months.
The project is over 1,300 billion VND, delayed for many years
The Ngoc Hoi Intersection Project (Nha Trang City) has a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND, of which the part implemented under the BT (build - transfer) contract is more than 1,250 billion VND. The project started construction at the end of 2017, and was scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019, but it was not until 2023 that 3/4 of the branches were put into operation.
Currently, the N4 branch has not been completed due to land clearance problems, while the re- exploited items have had technical problems, affecting traffic and causing public outrage.
