Propaganda and mobilization of people to participate in vocational training
The border commune of Buon Don, bordering Mondulkiri province ( Kingdom of Cambodia), is home to 15 ethnic groups. Of which, there are 1,318 ethnic minority households, accounting for 76.8% of the population, communes with diverse and rich cultural identities.
Currently, Buon Don commune has 8 prestigious people recognized. They are the core of solidarity, a spiritual support and a solid bridge between the Party, government and the people of all ethnic groups in the area.
In recent years, vocational training for rural workers has achieved positive results, thanks to the support of prestigious people and village and hamlet heads. They take the lead in propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in vocational training classes, helping to develop household economy.

Ms. H Quan Hwing shared: "Thanks to the support of the government, young and middle-aged workers have been properly trained in vocational skills. At first, many people hesitated because they were afraid that it would be expensive and time-consuming, but after the village and hamlet chiefs were informed about the rights and significance of vocational training, everyone was excited to register."
According to Ms. H. Quan, vocational training is of great significance in the context of many difficulties for people in the commune. Accordingly, workers have more suitable options for work,
Those who are busy farming can raise more cattle to develop the economy, while those who want to preserve ethnic culture can learn weaving and sewing to sell to tourists visiting and staying in the commune.

Vocational training associated with preserving cultural values
Vocational training for rural workers in Buon Don has a profound social significance, especially in poverty reduction and stabilizing the lives of ethnic minorities - a group with a large proportion in the commune. It is worth mentioning that improving skills helps people be more autonomous in production, reducing dependence on State support.
According to the People's Committee of Buon Don commune, to maximize the potential and advantages of the locality, vocational training needs to be implemented methodically, in accordance with actual conditions.

First of all, the locality continues to survey the vocational training and employment needs of each population group, each village and hamlet. From there, open training classes for the right subjects, avoiding the situation of completing the study but not having a job.
Mr. Le Thanh Son - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Buon Don commune said: "One of the key orientations of vocational training is to integrate policy support for learners, especially for poor, near-poor households and ethnic minorities".

In addition, policies to support tuition fees, travel costs, and production loans after training will help people feel secure in attending classes and boldly apply knowledge into practice.
The promotion of vocational training with the preservation of traditional culture is also focused on, contributing to preserving the identity of the nation of En De, Laos - a valuable asset of this legendary land.
According to the People's Committee of Buon Don commune, the whole commune currently has 6,582 people, of which ethnic minorities account for 76.8% of the total population.
In recent times, vocational training has not only helped workers improve their skills and create jobs for themselves, but also opened up opportunities for work at companies, factories, and enterprises inside and outside the locality.
