Untie the last knot
On June 9, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Duc - Chairman of Hong Dan Commune People's Committee, Ca Mau province - said that the locality has just organized the protection of the construction of abutment B of bridge 9000 under the Ninh Quoi - Ngan Dua road construction and upgrade project.
This is one of the key transportation projects in the northern area of Ca Mau province, with a total investment of more than 271 billion VND, nearly 11km long, connecting Bac Lieu (old) with Ngan Dua and neighboring areas, called the Ninh Quoi - Ngan Dua Project.
The project has been implemented for many years, but has continuously encountered difficulties in site clearance. Prolonged obstacles have caused the project to be repeatedly missed for completion, forcing the Provincial People's Committee to adjust the implementation time from the period 2019 - 2025 to 2019 - 2026.
In the 9000 bridge area, in the process of construction deployment, cases of obstructing construction units from performing their duties have appeared. Local authorities directly propagate and mobilize people to comply with the land acquisition policy, and at the same time organize construction protection according to regulations, ensuring security and order at the construction site.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Traffic Construction Project Management Board, to date, the project has completed more than 92% of the volume. Most items have been basically completed, but locations still facing site clearance problems continue to affect the overall progress of the entire project.
Local people expect the road to be completed soon to connect synchronous traffic, creating favorable conditions for goods and travel, especially in the context that many access roads and auxiliary works have not yet been completed due to lack of construction site.
Determination to remove bottlenecks
According to Hong Dan Commune People's Committee, there are still 5 households in the 6000 bridge area that have not received compensation money and have not handed over the site to the investor. Although the locality has organized dialogues, propaganda, and mobilization many times, these cases have not yet agreed on a compensation plan.
Mr. Nguyen Nhan Duc said that the locality has completed the dossier and sent it to competent authorities for consideration according to regulations. The goal is to complete the site clearance work completely in June 2026 to create conditions for contractors to synchronously implement the remaining items.
Not only the Ninh Quoi - Ngan Dua route, site clearance is also one of the major bottlenecks for many key projects in Ca Mau.
Over the past time, projects such as the National Highway 1 bypass through Ca Mau city, the ring road project in Bac Lieu city, Ca Mau; the ring road project outside Bac Lieu city, Ca Mau province; the East Sea dike upgrade project; the embankment project on both banks of Bac Lieu river, Ca Mau... have all encountered difficulties or been under pressure for progress due to compensation, support and site handover not meeting requirements.
Faced with this situation, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee has repeatedly directed localities to focus on thoroughly handling obstacles related to land, compensation, and resettlement support; and at the same time requested investors to closely coordinate with local authorities to ensure the progress of key projects.
For the Ninh Quoi - Ngan Dua route, completing site clearance in June is considered a decisive condition for the project to be completed soon after many years of delay. When the last bottlenecks are removed, the project will have conditions to be completed synchronously, promote investment efficiency and meet the expectations of local people.
