On October 24, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province issued a document to urgently respond to rain and high tides causing flooding in many places in the province.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province, rising water levels on rivers, canals and ditches have seriously affected people's lives, production, transportation and safety. Some high-risk points include the section of National Highway 1A through Tan Thanh, Gia Rai, Bac Lieu, Hiep Thanh wards...

In the face of the above situation, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested departments, branches, localities and socio-political organizations to strengthen monitoring of weather developments, proactively deploy preventive measures and minimize damage.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates to inspect and reinforce irrigation works, dykes, embankments, and salinity prevention culverts, while guiding people to protect crops, livestock, and aquaculture and implement support policies to restore production when eligible.

The Department of Construction inspects traffic routes that are often flooded, arranges warning signs, guides safe traffic, and promptly fixes subsidence and damage to road surfaces. The Provincial Police and the Provincial Military Command ensure security, order, traffic safety, prepare rescue forces and means and guide ships to anchor safely, absolutely do not let people go to sea during bad weather.
The People's Committees of communes and wards are required to review and relocate people from areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides; strengthen inspection, reinforce embankments, pump water drainage, protect rice, crops, aquaculture and mobilize forces to help people overcome damage.
The People's Committee of Ca Mau province calls on agencies, units and people in the whole province to uphold the spirit of proactiveness, solidarity, and joining hands to respond to extreme weather developments, minimize risks, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
