Rare pangolin crawles into the office in the city

Quang Tri - Discovering a rare pangolin crawling into the office, the man brought it to hand over to the forest rangers.

On March 20, the Cam Lo Inter-district Forest Protection Department, Dong Ha City (Quang Tri Province) said that the unit had just received a 2.5kg Java pangolin from a local resident.

Previously, Mr. Ho Ngoc Song (born in 1977, residing in Dong Thanh ward, Dong Ha city) was working when he suddenly discovered a pangolin entering his room.

The pangolin is an endangered, rare wild animal that needs protection, Mr. Song has caught it and contacted the forest rangers to hand it over.

According to Cam Lo Inter-district Forest Protection Department - Dong Ha City, Java pangolin belongs to group IB, listed in Appendix I of the CITES Convention on endangered and rare wildlife species.

Currently, this pangolin has been handed over to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Life (Cuc Phuong National Park) for care, health monitoring and conservation.
