Many people do not accept flowers to congratulate the Party Congress
On August 6, in response to the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, localities across the city simultaneously implemented the practice of not accepting congratulatory flowers and not organizing performances at the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This not only demonstrates the spirit of avoiding waste, many localities also have practical initiatives to turn savings into humanitarian actions.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Ngoc Muon - Secretary of Phu Dinh Ward - said that the Ward Party Committee has highly agreed and will strictly implement the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. In particular, Phu Dinh ward decided to take the money from cutting the art program and put it into the ward's Fund for the Poor to care for people in difficult circumstances.

According to Mr. Muon, Phu Dinh Ward Party Congresses have often mobilized funds to organize celebration art programs. However, in the spirit of the new direction, the ward decided to completely cut this item.
"At first, we also planned to have 5 performances. But now with the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, we stopped and decided to take the money to organize it to do other more meaningful things. This year's Congress only focuses on the main content, more neatly and practically", Mr. Muon shared.
The Secretary of Phu Dinh Ward also added that when sending invitations to the delegates, the unit will have a notice clearly stating that they will not accept congratulatory flowers or gifts in kind, but only accept donations to the local Fund for the Poor to care for those in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Tran Sinh Hung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Tan Binh Ward Party Committee - also shared that, implementing Official Dispatch No. 44-CV/TU dated August 5 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on practicing thrift, promoting the spirit of solidarity and sharing in organizing Party Congresses at all levels, the Tan Binh Ward Party Committee completely agreed and seriously implemented the directives of the City Party Committee.
The Ward Party Committee will disseminate to all grassroots organizations of the Party, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and at the regular meeting conference in August with Party committees of Party committees and Party cells about not organizing cultural and artistic programs to celebrate, not receiving congress flowers...

At the same time, at the 1st Tan Binh Ward Party Congress, term 2025-2030, scheduled to be held on August 21 and 22, the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee will organize a campaign to support funding for people in provinces affected by natural disasters among all delegates attending.
This is an opportunity to demonstrate the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese people, promote the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility of cadres and party members, and contribute to the City in sharing difficulties with people in areas heavily affected by natural disasters and floods, Mr. Hung expressed.
Raising funds to support people affected by storms and floods
At the Con Dao special zone, Mr. Le Anh Tu - Secretary of the local Party Committee - said: "The special zone has been thoroughly grasped and will be implemented immediately in the program of the Party Congress taking place on August 8. The cut in art does not affect the content of the congress but also helps delegates focus more on political work".
In particular, Mr. Tu shared a meaningful initiative: "Instead of giving flowers and gifts, Con Dao will include in the congress program a fundraising event to support people affected by storms and floods in the North and Central regions". This is a typical example showing that the response does not stop at reducing forms, but has turned into practical, humane actions.
