In case of having a house of one's own but far from the workplace to enjoy social housing support policies in Lao Cai province, the following conditions must be met:
The distance from the location of the house under their ownership to the location of the workplace is at least 30 km.
The prescribed distance is determined according to the length of the road and waterway route, the shortest connection between relevant locations at the time of approval of the application for purchase and rental of social housing.
In case a person has 2 or more houses under his/her ownership, the determination of the distance will be calculated based on the location of the house closest to the location of work.
The People's Committee of Lao Cai province assigned departments, branches and People's Committees at the commune and ward levels to guide, inspect and supervise the implementation of policies; at the same time, requested investors of social housing projects to check and accurately determine the distance to ensure transparency and fairness for the people.
After the merger of provinces, Lao Cai supports travel expenses for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and people working under labor contracts to work at the provincial administrative center and communes and wards (new) of 600,000 VND/person/month from 25 km to less than 50 km; 900,000 VND/person/month from 50 km to less than 100 km and 1,200,000 VND/person/month from 100 km or more.
Support 1,500,000 VND/person/month for renting houses to work at the new provincial administrative center and 800,000 VND/person/month for working in communes and wards. The implementation period is from August 1, 2025 to the end of January 2027.
