Lam Dong – Authorities have developed a plan to ensure safety for people living in the pine hill area, which is at high risk of landslides.

On October 9, Mr. Phan Quang Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh Commune (Duc Trong District, Lam Dong) said that the locality is working with units and consultants to lower the load on the pine hill that is at very high risk of landslides.

The pine hill above is located in the forest area managed by Dai Ninh Protective Forest Management Board. Below the pine hill, there are about 50 - 60 households living.

Over the past few days, this area has been experiencing heavy rains, causing cracks to appear on the hill. Some areas have started to slide down to the foot of houses, causing great fear among the locals.

According to local residents, landslides have occurred in this area in the past. Water from the pine hill has poured down into the residential area, along with red mud. Dozens of large and small cracks have also appeared on the top of the hill, stretching for tens of meters.
