The project was approved by the People's Council of Bac Lieu province in 2019.
The goal of the project is to complete the construction of dykes, bridges and culverts to overcome saline intrusion to protect 12,000 hectares of agricultural land of Ninh Hoa commune and Ninh Thanh Loi commune, Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province; Serve the needs of goods transportation, create favorable conditions for socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security of the locality; contribute to improving the quality of people's lives, innovate the face of rural areas in remote areas, strive to achieve the common goals of the National Target Program on New Rural Development...
The project has a total investment (at the time of approval) of over 84 billion VND, invested by the People's Committee of Hong Dan district. The investment scale, the dike combined road is 11.72km long, the project will build 7 reinforced concrete bridges with a width of 3.8m. The project implementation period is 2019 - 2023.
The project was also assessed for environmental impact before implementation.
After receiving information from the Auditor to transfer the file to the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Lieu Province Police to clarify violations related to the project, Lao Dong reporter noted that the project in part of the project in Ninh Hoa commune, Hong Dan district (the section of Canal 3000 to Ninh Phuoc) was still not completed.
Many bridges have not been completed, some households have not yet handed over the site, so the construction unit has not been able to do so.
The road (according to the project is a dike) along the river, some sections have been completed, some sections have not been implemented. The project is missing construction units. Many people said that this project was not completed.
