Accordingly, immediately after the lighting project was completed, from January 1, 2025, Hill A1 relic was opened in the evening to serve the people and tourists. Hill A1 is one of the prominent component relics of the Special National Monument - Dien Bien Phu Battlefield.
On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the A1 Hill relic has invested in installing an artistic lighting system and will be officially completed in December 2024. This lighting project has a total investment of more than 13 billion VND, invested by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province.
The project aims to renovate and complete the lighting system of Hill A1 relic, contributing to the development of the infrastructure system of Dien Bien Phu city in a synchronous and modern direction.
This is a Group C project; a level IV technical infrastructure project invested with financial support to implement the Project to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory, Dien Bien province according to the Prime Minister's Decision.
The lighting system installed includes: General lighting of Hill A1; concrete road leading up to the hill; trails around the relic; existing artifacts and structures on the relic (Monument, tank...) to help make Hill A1 relic become sparkling, magical, bringing sacred emotions at night.
Present at Hill A1 on the first days of opening in the evening, Ms. Nong Thi Quynh Thao - Thanh Truong ward, Dien Bien Phu city, said: "This is the first time I have been to Hill A1 in the evening, it has a very strange, very sacred feeling" - Ms. Thao said.
According to Ms. Thao, at night the space becomes sparkling, magical, and feels strangely sacred. Although she has been here many times during the day, the feeling at night brings a difference and freshness.
Ms. Vuong Thi Mai - Tan Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city - said: "A1 Hill at night is really different, the artistic lighting system makes me imagine the time of the resistance war against France and the soldiers who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland".
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dao - Director of the Relic Management Board (under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien) - representative of the investor said that putting the A1 Hill relic into service at night is necessary, in order to better promote the value of the relic, contributing to widely promoting the historical significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
According to Mr. Dao, opening A1 Hill to visitors at night not only creates a magical space, but also increases the time for sightseeing, experience, research, and unique learning for both locals and tourists.
“Combining evening tours with lively explanatory activities has helped visitors feel more deeply about the historical significance and sacred value of Hill A1,” Mr. Dao emphasized.
Currently, in addition to the regular opening hours during the day, visitors can visit Hill A1 in the evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday and on holidays. The current entrance fee is 20,000 VND/adult.
Previously, in September 2024, the D1 Hill relic - where the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument is located - also invested in an artistic lighting system with a total value of nearly 15 billion VND.
