On July 22, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City signed and issued Decision No. 640 on the establishment of the Steering Committee on the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Can Tho City.
Accordingly, the Steering Committee for the Prevention of Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit goods in Can Tho City, abbreviated as Steering Committee 389/TP, was established, headed by Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee.
The Deputy Heads of the Committee include: Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Standing member of the Steering Committee 389/TP; Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police; Colonel Pham Le Xuan Binh - Deputy Commander of the Can Tho City Military Command; Mr. Phan Canh Tuyen Hai - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Department of Finance.
The members are representatives of leaders of units such as the Police, Customs Department, Border Guard, Tax Department, Department of Industry and Trade, Home Affairs, Finance, Health, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Environment, etc.
The Steering Committee is responsible for developing appropriate action programs and plans at each time; assisting the City People's Committee in organizing coordination between departments, branches, sectors and local authorities in the fight against smuggling, illegal printing, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods.
The City People's Committee assigned communes and wards to establish or strengthen the 389 Steering Committee at the commune level to carry out prevention and control work right in the area.
Establish interdisciplinary inspection teams to handle serious cases; monitor and urge agencies to implement anti-commercial fraud policies; propose rewards or handle collectives and individuals who show signs of covering up and assisting violations.
The Standing Office of Steering Committee 389/TP is located at the Market Management Department (address: No. 8-10 Tran Phu Street, Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho City). The organization and operation of the Office is decided by the Head of the Steering Committee upon the proposal of the Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee.
The members of the Steering Committee work part-time. The operating budget of the board is guaranteed from the state budget and other legal sources according to regulations.
