At IC12 intersection (Km2087+223), Ho Thi Ky commune, Ca Mau province, from the start of construction until traffic is opened, almost everyone passing by slows down. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Ho Thi Ky commune, Ca Mau said: Previously, this intersection was a shrimp pond land, unexpectedly, it only took more than 3 years to become an expressway.

Many passenger car, truck, and car drivers shared that they are waiting for the opening day at this intersection with the desire to drive once to know how it feels. From Can Tho running to the end of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, Mr. Huynh Van Su, Dam Doi commune commented: "The road is smooth, faster than National Highway 1A a lot. The first time going on the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway feels too beautiful".
According to Mr. Su, there are many signs on the road leading down, stops, and toll collection points on the road, but it is not finished yet.
Mr. Tran Van Huynh (truck driver in Cai Nuoc commune) shared that before, if you wanted to go to Can Tho, it took nearly 4 hours to get there, fuel costs increased, and it took a lot of time. Now there is an expressway that shortens the time and saves fuel costs. He jokingly said: "There is a song saying "I heard that Ca Mau is very far away at the end of the Vietnam map", now Ca Mau is no longer far away.

Mr. Huynh Huu Luc - Thuy Luc food production and processing enterprise (An Xuyen ward, Ca Mau province) said that the opening of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway makes many businesses in the locality excited. Because with the expressway, goods transportation will be faster, reducing costs for businesses, creating conditions for local agricultural products to increase value.
Great opportunity for Ca Mau to break through
Leaders of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee informed that major transportation projects being implemented in the area are of great significance, especially the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project. This project not only completes the strategic infrastructure system but also creates a breakthrough in marine economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and comprehensive socio-economic development for people in the southernmost point of the Fatherland.

Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi - Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee - said that the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway along with other key projects will create conditions for the province to attract investment from businesses and potential investors to Ca Mau land in particular as well as provinces in the Mekong Delta region to develop the economy.
Ca Mau expects that the projects will open up new development space, strengthen inter-regional connectivity, promote tourism and trade, create more jobs and maximize the potential and available strengths of the locality, especially strengths in tourism, renewable energy, and seafood processing and production. In the period 2026-2030, Ca Mau has a lot of room for development, transport infrastructure conditions are gradually being completed, especially the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project, opening up many opportunities to "break through" in economy.

Ca Mau province is adjusting the planning from now until 2030, with a vision to 2050. Notably, when the expressways and strategic connecting axes are completed, Ca Mau is preparing an important step: Planning and exploiting thousands of hectares of land along the expressway to develop industry, logistics and new urban areas. This plan not only opens up new growth space for the locality, but also lays the foundation for a long-term investment wave associated with dynamic infrastructure.
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway Project has a main route length of 110.85 km, divided into 2 component projects including the Can Tho - Hau Giang section and the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section with a scale of 4 lanes, with a total investment of 27,523 billion VND.
