Open to traffic on Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway on the East branch
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway East branch connecting the Southeast and Southwest regions passing through Dong Nai province has 3 packages including package A5, package A6 and package A7, section length is 27km.
To date, the contractor has basically completed package A5 and is preparing for acceptance before handing over to the investor.

As for package A6, due to contract termination, the investor re-bid and divided it into 5 new packages. Package A6-1, contractors will be mobilized from April 28, 2023, expected to be completed before November 30, 2024; Package A6-2 contractors are mobilized from March 31, 2023 and are expected to be completed before October 30, 2024; Package A6-3 contractors are mobilized from May 1, 2023, expected to be completed before December 31, 2024; Package A6-4 contractors mobilized from June 21, 2023 are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024; Package A6-5 contractors are mobilized from April 26, 2023 and are expected to be completed before December 31, 2024.
At package A7, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project (total investment of more than 1,100 billion VND) has gradually taken shape. The Thi Vai bridge construction item identified as the critical progress path of the A7 package has also been officially agreed upon, the total investment of Thi Vai bridge and viaduct is more than 720 billion VND.
During the construction of the road at package A7, according to reporters, the road crew has asphalted the road, is implementing the remaining traffic safety items, installing anti-glare panels, road markings, signs... .
Mr. Nguyen Thien Dat - Managing Director of package A7 - said that the construction progress of this package has reached more than 98%. It is expected that the entire bidding package will be completed in package A7 in August 2024.
The Management Board of Southern Expressway Projects said that it is expected that the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway in the East will technically open to traffic by the end of 2024.
How will the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway connect when it opens?
Talking to reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Huu Vi - Director of the Management Board of Southern Expressway Projects - Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) said: We are By the end of 2024, we strive to technically open the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, the eastern branch, passing through Dong Nai province.

Also according to Mr. Vi, after the technical opening, this expressway section is guaranteed to be put into use, however it still cannot connect with the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, but can only connect with the section from Highway 51 to the intersection of the road to Phuoc An port (Nhon Trach district).
Progress of the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, Mr. Vi said the investor is striving to complete it in 2025.
For package J3, Phuoc Khanh bridge across Long Tau river connecting Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City and Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province is facing difficulties, currently VEC is inviting bids.
The entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway is 57.8 km long and has a total initial investment of 31,320 billion VND.
Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway has the project's starting point passing through Ben Luc district (Long An province), then connecting with Long Thanh district to Highway 51 to Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.
Once completed, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will reduce congestion on National Highway 1 and National Highway 51, shortening the time from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
