On July 19, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board reported on the progress of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway (phase 1).
Although site clearance has been improved, the capital disbursement progress has not yet met requirements. In 2025, the project was allocated 1,375 billion VND but only 486 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 35.35%.
The reason was determined to be due to some bottlenecks on the site that had just been handed over, along with the unfavorable weather affecting the construction output.
To ensure progress, contractors have committed to organizing the construction of "3 shifts, 4 teams" and disbursing all the capital allocated this year.
The investor recommended that the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province direct communes and wards in Ninh Hoa to promptly approve the compensation plan for relocating 220kV, 110kV, 35kV power systems to pay for affected households.
In particular, the approval of compensation payments to households in the power grid safety corridor needs to be completed soon to serve the work of pulling the 220kV power system.
The Project Management Board proposed that the Ministry of Construction direct Project Management Board 6 to develop a comprehensive plan for the traffic management and supervision system (GSDHGT) for the entire Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway (phase 1).
Thereby, ensuring synchronization with the regional expressway network and the national transport operation system, to increase connectivity, efficiency and cost savings.
Component project 1 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is 31.5km long. This section is located entirely in Khanh Hoa province, with a total investment of VND 5,333 billion, starting in June 2023 and expected to be completed in early 2027.
Of which, the first 20km of the route under the XL01 package - under the direction of the Prime Minister to be completed in 2025 - has now reached more than 60% of the construction volume.
