While working on a fishing boat in Truong Sa, the fisherman from Binh Dinh was crushed by a stone crusher on his right hand.

On the morning of April 9, the Commander of Truong Sa Island (Khanh Hoa Province) said that Truong Sa Island infirmary under Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 is urgently treating fisherman Vinh Van Non (53 years old, residing in Hoai Nhon Town, Binh Dinh Province) who had a serious work accident while fishing at sea.

According to initial information, at around 9:00 a.m. on April 8, while fishing near Thuyen Chai Island, Mr. Non was dragged by a stone crusher into his right hand, causing serious injuries. After being temporarily stopped in blood, the captain of fishing boat BD 96888 TS where Mr. Non worked signaled for emergency care.

At 7:00 p.m. the same day, fisherman Non was taken to Truong Sa Island Infirmary in a state of hand crushed wound, soft tissue damage, and multiple tendons broken in the fingers. Immediately, the medical team proceeded to treat complex wounds, suture tendons, remove crushed organs, stop bleeding and fix broken bones with a bracelet.

Currently, the patient's health is stable, but he is still facing a high risk of infection and finger necrosis.

The timely rescue demonstrates the sense of responsibility, high professional capacity and dedication of the medical forces on Truong Sa island in protecting the health and lives of fishermen operating in the sovereign waters of the Fatherland.
