Fish fishing on Ba River, 4 students in Phu Yen drowned

Hoài Luân |

Phu Yen - On March 15, the leader of the People's Committee of Krong Pa commune (Son Hoa district) said that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing the death of 4 students.

The victims include: K Pa Y An (10 years old), Y Xinh Ayun (9 years old), K Sor Y Thien (14 years old) and K Sor Y Tai (14 years old), all students of Krong Pa Primary and Secondary School, residing in Krong Pa commune.

According to initial information, on the morning of the same day, this group of students asked their family for permission to go fishing on the Ba River. At around 8am, when they did not return, relatives organized a search and discovered that all 4 students had died from drowning.

The initial cause was determined to be that while fishing, the children went swimming in the river, unfortunately falling into deep water, leading to drowning.

The leader of the People's Committee of Krong Pa commune said that the children's families are all in difficult circumstances, being poor households and near-poor households.

Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Son Hoa district visited and encouraged the victims' families. At the same time, the locality has mobilized support for 4 coffins to help families organize funerals for the children.
