According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 3:00 p.m. on April 29, the traffic volume from Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre province through Rach Mieu Bridge and vice versa increased, causing local traffic congestion.
In this situation, the Traffic Police (CSGT) of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces coordinated to regulate.
An officer of the Traffic Police Department of Tien Giang Provincial Police said that the traffic police forces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces are coordinating and sending forces to be on duty on both sides of Rach Mieu Bridge.
Accordingly, if the traffic congestion on the Tien Giang bank continues, the Traffic Police of Ben Tre Province will block vehicles from the direction of Ben Tre Province to give way to vehicles from My Tho City to move through Rach Mieu Bridge and vice versa to regulate traffic at this section.
Here are some images of traffic congestion at Rach Mieu Bridge:

National Highway 60 starts from Trung Luong intersection (My Tho city, Tien Giang province) passes through Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces and ends in Soc Trang city (Soc Trang province) with a length of about 115km. Because this route is much shorter than National Highway 1, vehicles traveling from Soc Trang City to Ho Chi Minh City or vice versa are given priority, causing traffic density on National Highway 60 to increase.
Meanwhile, when vehicles go to Rach Mieu Bridge (connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre) is narrow, making it considered a "bottleneck", local traffic congestion often occurs.
