At this time, many passersby and patients in Hoan My Hospital (Nguyen Van Linh Street, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City) discovered and shouted for hospital staff. The incident caused many patients to panic, some of them ran outside.
The sign was hung high up, about the 8th floor of the building, and was made of electronics and plastic, so it burned heavily and dropped sparks of fire down below. Right below was a coffee shop, so there was a high risk of the fire spreading.
Hospital staff attempted to spray water from above on the fire and called the police.
Upon receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, Da Nang Police mobilized 5 fire trucks and more than 10 officers and soldiers to the scene, including 1 specialized ladder truck. At around 9:00 p.m., the fire was extinguished and there were no human casualties.
