A leader of the People's Committee of Ky Phong commune said that the fire broke out at around 5:30 am on May 14, at a children's toy and clothing store of Mr. Le Van Hieu's household (residing in the area).
Immediately after the fire, Mr. Hieu's family ran outside through a door on the side of the house, so no one was injured.
Many people nearby used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but the fire quickly rose so high that it could not be extinguished.
Upon receiving news of the fire, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police dispatched many soldiers and 4 fire trucks to spray water to put out the fire.

"The fire on the first floor has now been extinguished. The fire is still burning on the 2nd floor. Maybe the fire will be completely extinguished in a few minutes," the leader of Ky Phong commune informed at 8:00 a.m.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and clarified.
