On November 12, the authorities of Gia Lai province are clarifying the cause of the fire that killed 1 person and injured 1 person in Duc Co commune.
According to initial information, at around 0:30 on November 12, people discovered a fire at a grocery store and stationery on Tran Hung Dao Street (Group 4, Duc Co Commune).
Upon receiving the news, Duc Co Commune People's Committee mobilized the Commune Police and other forces to quickly arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The house was made of wooden walls, roofed with corrugated iron, and contained many flammable goods, causing a fierce fire.
Discovering someone trapped inside, the authorities broke the window, took the mother and child, Ms. H.T.C (born in 1964) and Ms. H.T.T (born in 1986), out, and transferred them to Duc Co Medical Center for emergency care.
After that, both victims were transferred to Gia Lai General Hospital for treatment; however, Ms. C died from severe burns causing respiratory failure.
Ms. T also suffered burns and is in critical condition and is currently being treated at the Department of Surgery - burns, Gia Lai General Hospital.
The incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
