Renovating a park of nearly 83,000 m2
Dam Vuong Park is located on Ly Thanh Tong Street in Hai Son Ward (Do Son District, Hai Phong). The Dam Vuong Park construction project was approved by the Hai Phong City People's Committee in 2002 and the Do Son District People's Committee approved a one-time adjustment in Decision No. 2916/QD-UBND dated December 26, 2016 with a total investment of nearly 29 billion VND from the central budget revenue left for the district. The implementation period is from 2002 to 2017. However, due to problems with site clearance as well as capital sources, the project has been unfinished for many years, with many items deteriorating.

Faced with this situation, on July 20, 2023, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City issued Decision No. 2109/QD-UBND on the investment policy of the Dam Vuong Park Renovation and Renovation Project based on the current status of the park with a total area of 82,882 m2, a total investment of more than 68 billion VND. Of which, the city budget is 80%, Do Son district budget is 20%. On November 23, 2024, the project was started.
The scale of the project includes renovating vacant land and ineffective land; renovating walkways, walking paths in squares, green trees, drainage systems, water supply; adding decorative infrastructure systems for park landscapes, building auxiliary items, adding grass, crops, lighting... The implementation period is 150 days.
Construction without days off
On the afternoon of March 26, Lao Dong reporter noted that dozens of workers are working busily at the project site. Mr. Hoang Van Thoan - Deputy General Director of Viet Uc Group Joint Stock Company (project contractor) - said that during the implementation process, the project encountered some difficulties in site clearance. Some areas will not be handed over clean land for construction until February 2025, affecting progress.
However, the contractor arranged 150 workers, of which the regular workers on the construction site are nearly 100 people. Construction workers do not have days off, there are days of overtime until 10pm to ensure project progress.
By March 26, after more than 4 months of construction, the project had reached more than 70% progress. Of which, the renovation of the operator's house is more than 90% complete (waiting for the investor's opinion on the option of mortar and mortar for the rotten wall). Some other items are gradually being completed such as walkways, walking paths, trees, etc. The remaining items are being accelerated, including pedestrian bridges in the lake area, painting and repairing lake railings, paving sidewalks, renovating lighting systems, water supply and drainage, etc.
According to the Do Son District Construction Investment Project Management Board as well as the contractor's representative, with the current progress, the project strives to finish on time, basically completing before the April 30 and May 1 holidays to serve the sightseeing and entertainment needs of people and tourists.
