Leaders of Luong Tai Commune People's Committee, Bac Ninh province said that the fire occurred at about 7:30 am on February 10, at the Huong La charity house.
The fire broke out from the warehouse area making candles and then spread to the physical therapy house area, causing about 80m2 to be burned down.
It is known that Huong La Charity House is raising 42 disabled children with 15 nuns directly taking care of them. At the time of the fire, there were still 13 nuns and 8 disabled children at the facility, the rest had returned to their hometowns for Tet or went to school.
The area for nurturing disabled children is arranged separately from the fire site.
When the fire was detected, the nuns quickly took all children and those present to a safe area, and no casualties occurred.
Immediately after that, functional forces were present to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding area. The cause of the fire and property damage are being statistically analyzed and clarified.
