Ninh Binh - A forest fire occurred in Phu Khong mountain area (Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu city).

The forest fire broke out at around 4pm on January 23rd in a special-use forest located in the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. Immediately after the discovery, authorities arrived at the scene and coordinated with local forces to deploy a firefighting plan.

On the morning of January 24, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Hoa Lu City People's Committee said that the fire was located on a high mountain and isolated from the main road outside, so the authorities had to reach the foot of the mountain by boat, making firefighting extremely difficult.

"After many efforts to put out the fire, at around 1am on January 24, the fire was extinguished. According to initial statistics, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but burned and affected nearly 2 hectares of special-use forest" - said a representative of the Hoa Lu City People's Committee.
