Ha Tinh - A fishing boat of fishermen in Ky Ninh commune (Ky Anh town) caught fire fiercely, causing estimated damage of about 1 billion VND.

On the afternoon of October 16, the leader of Ky Khang Border Guard Station (under the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province) said that at around 10:00 p.m. on October 15, the fishing boat with registration number HT 90678 TS of Mr. L.V.T (30 years old, residing in Tam Hai 2 village, Ky Ninh commune) was anchored at the fishing wharf area in Tam Hai 2 village when it suddenly caught fire. This is a fishing boat about 15.7m long, 4.9m wide, with a capacity of 320CV.

Immediately after receiving the news, the leaders of Ky Khang Border Guard Station quickly directed 7 officers and soldiers of the Border Control Station at the Border Gate and reinforced 5 officers and soldiers of Ky Khang Border Guard Station, along with vehicles to the scene, coordinating with local people to make efforts to deploy fire extinguishing plans.

However, because it was dark at the time, the area was windy, and there were many flammable objects on the ship, it was very difficult to put out the fire. The fire was not extinguished until around 11pm the same day.

At the time of the fire, there was no one on board so there were no casualties.

However, many properties, fishing boats and all fishing nets and other equipment were burned by the fire. The initial damage estimate of the fire is about 1 billion VND.

The initial cause of the fire is suspected to be a battery short circuit during charging.
