On the night of November 13, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Thac Ba commune, Lao Cai province confirmed that at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, a major fire broke out at Bach Ha Kindergarten in the commune.
After receiving the report, the local authorities coordinated with functional units to approach the scene and control the fire.
According to Mr. Quynh, the fire was controlled after about 30 minutes. The police are blocking off the scene to clarify the incident.
Regarding the information that a woman died in the fire, Mr. Quynh said that the authorities are clarifying and cannot provide further information.
At the scene, at around 11pm the same day, the police were still blocking off and examining the scene inside the fire.
According to people around the school area, the fire broke out in a classroom on the 2nd floor, the school's office building.
The fire killed a woman.
The cause of the fire is still being clarified.
