At about 11:15 am on January 28, a tanker truck carrying liquids (unclear type) was traveling on Duong Cat Loi street, Nha Be commune, Ho Chi Minh City when it suddenly caught fire. In just a few minutes, a large fire engulfed all vehicles, accompanied by loud explosions and black smoke columns rising tens of meters high.
Many residents living near the scene said that when they heard the explosion, they ran outside and saw flames rising from the cabin and storage tank. "The heat radiated very strongly, black smoke obscured a whole area, making everyone afraid and not daring to approach," a witness recounted.

The Fire Prevention and Fighting - Rescue Force of Ho Chi Minh City Police has mobilized many specialized vehicles and many soldiers to the scene. Due to the flammable nature of the liquid, the soldiers had to divide it into many nodes, both spraying specialized foam directly into the fire and spraying water to cool the surrounding areas to prevent the fire from spreading to people's houses.

Duong Cat Loi street passing through the fire area is currently blocked to serve firefighting. By more than 12 pm on the same day, the fire had not been completely controlled, functional forces are still making efforts to extinguish the embers and cool down the storage tank to avoid the risk of re-emergence.
There are currently no statistics on casualties and property damage. The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
