Urgent instructions related to Hanoi apartment residents not daring to use tap water due to a strong stench

Hanoi - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee directed the inspection and handling of press information reflecting that 2,000 Hanoi apartment buildings did not dare to use tap water because of "smelly smell".

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued urgent instructions regarding press reports on the situation of foul-smelling tap water, causing about 2,000 residents at SDU apartment building (No. 143 Tran Phu, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) to not dare to use it for eating and living.

Vice Chairman Duong Duc Tuan assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and verify the reflection on the clean water atSDU apartment building having a strange smell and not ensuring quality.

The Department of Construction is also required to urgently handle related issues, ensure stable and standard clean water supply for people, and report the implementation results to the City People's Committee before April 20.

Previously, according to people's feedback, the tap water at SDU apartment building has had a strong stench for many months, and when boiled, it appeared cloudy. Residents have had to buy bottled water for temporary use or install a water filtration system at home.

The building management board said that it has sent a petition to relevant units but it has not been completely resolved.
