On January 22, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Binh Thuan province reported initial information about a fishing boat sinking at sea, with 4 workers missing.
Previously, at around 10am on January 21, fishing boat BTh 81650 TS was operating in the sea area, about 25 nautical miles southeast of La Gan Cape, Tuy Phong District (Binh Thuan Province) when it was sunk by waves. At the time of the incident, there were 5 workers on board. At 12pm on January 22, crew member Le Van H (born in 1989, residing in Tuy Phong District) was found, in stable health.
There are currently 4 missing workers including: Nguyen Van H (born in 1985), Nguyen Van D (born in 1990), Nguyen Van C (born in 1991) and Le Van Th (born in 1983), all residing in Lien Huong town, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.
Fishing boat BTh 81650 TS has a capacity of 45 CV, squid fishing, owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Van D (born in 1990, residing in Lien Huong town).
Currently, the area where the ship sank has northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7, with average waves of 2.4-3 m high.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Binh Thuan province requested the Provincial Border Guard Command to continue monitoring and directing Border Guard stations and Squadron 2 to notify boat owners and fishermen operating near the above area and coordinate in searching for the 4 missing workers.
At the same time, coordinate with the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region III, Coast Guard Region 3 Command, and Navy Region 4 Command to support the search for 4 missing workers.
