On the morning of October 15, the official inauguration ceremony of the Ban Gioc waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian (China) landscape area took place in the area between the two checkpoints on both sides.
The event was co-organized by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province (Vietnam) and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).
The official commissioning ceremony took place after more than 1 year of pilot operation (September 15, 2023 - present).
Accordingly, visitors are handled flexibly, scientifically, civilly and in accordance with regulations by immigration control forces, creating favorable conditions for visitors from both sides to travel to the landscape area.
Tourist pick-up and drop-off activities are coordinated smoothly by travel agencies on both sides, complying with the laws of both sides.
According to information from the Management Board of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area, from September 15, 2023 to August 2024, the number of visitors reached 939 groups entering and exiting the country/11,934 people; of which, 570 groups of tourists from China to Vietnam with 6,987 people, 369 groups of tourists from Vietnam to China with 4,947 people.
According to the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien waterfall tourism resource protection cooperation model is a new and unprecedented model, the first cross-border tourist landscape area of Vietnam and China. At the same time, it is a key component of the "belt and road" cooperation initiative, marking an important milestone affirming the development of the friendly cooperation relationship between Vietnam and China to a new height.
Ban Gioc - Duc Thien waterfall landscape area officially started operating from 9:00 (Beijing time) or 8:00 (Hanoi time) on October 15; tourist management is limited to 20 people/group, each side is 1,000 people/day; time from 8:00 Hanoi time (9:00 Beijing time) to after 14:00 Hanoi time (15:00 Beijing time).
Tour, tourist route, Vietnam side from the tourist check-in area through the Scenic Area - Ban Gioc Waterfall foot area - Saigon Hotel - Truc Lam Buddhist Temple - tourist check-in area through the Scenic Area - back to China side. Scope of the Chinese tourist route, from the tourist check-in area through the Scenic Area - the waterfall area across the border at Duc Thien - shopping street - high waterfall viewing point - scenic route and viewing grounds - tourist check-in area through the Scenic Area - back to Vietnam side. Tourists crossing the border are not allowed to stay illegally.
