Nghia Phuong Market was constructed in May 2016 and completed in 2017 on an area of nearly 4,800m². The project includes main items: cage house with 32 stalls, 2 rows of houses with nearly 20 kiosks. The project has an investment capital of nearly 5 billion VND from socialized funds, invested by the People's Committee of Tu Nghia district.

According to reporters, Nghia Phuong commune market is increasingly desolate and unkempt, with many items seriously degraded. There are no small traders in the cage area, the rows of kiosks are used by people to store firewood and raise chickens. The fire protection system is rotten and damaged. Meanwhile, dozens of small traders cover their tents to sell on the street and refuse to enter the market, causing huge waste, loss of aesthetics, and affecting the face of the new rural commune.

According to small traders here, if they enter the market to trade, they have to pay high fees, while they are mainly small traders, so renting stalls in Nghia Phuong market will not be profitable. That's why some small businesses accept streetside trading.
Ms. Thai - a small trader at Nghia Phuong market said that many people trade on the sidelines of National Highway 1A but refuse to enter the market. Many times when the commune police came down to propagate, mobilize, and handle the situation, they moved away for a few days, then a few days later continued to return to the side of National Highway 1A near Nghia Phuong market to do business.
Nghia Phuong Market has 2 rows of kiosks and 1 cage. What is easy to see is that the design of the market is quite unreasonable. Located close to the highway is the first row of kiosks, about 40 meters away is the second row of kiosks, deep inside is the cage area. The design of rows of kiosks with separate cages will make it difficult for small traders to do business.

Sharing with reporters, many small traders said that the market's design was unreasonable, the stalls and kiosks had a narrow area but the auction cost was too high. Small businesses have to spend more than 30 million VND, a one-time payment to own a 4m² lot and about 200 million for a kiosk for 20 years. While most small traders are retail traders.
According to small businesses, in Nghia Phuong commune there are up to 4 markets held in the villages, customers are scattered so each day they can only sell 200,000 - 300,000 VND, so there is no way to pay that much in one go. While the market is on the opposite side of the road, the kiosk is narrow. Therefore, for the past 7 years, small businesses have still covered the area with tents and tarpaulins to sell in the area close to the market.

Exchanging information with reporters, Mr. Vo Danh Ngoc - Chairman of Nghia Phuong Commune People's Committee said that most of the kiosks and cage houses in Nghia Phuong market have been successfully auctioned. However, after winning the auction, many small traders found that trading in the market was not profitable so they did not enter the market to trade, leading to the market not being as crowded as expected. As for the degraded fire prevention and fighting system, the commune is directing units to find solutions.
