Implementing the policy of the Ministry of Public Security on selecting Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dien into the People's Public Security force, Long An Provincial Police carried out the selection process in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Public Security to ensure standards.

As reported, at around 4:50 p.m. on April 21, 2023, Duc Hoa District Police coordinated with functional units to carry out patrol and control duties on Provincial Road 824, in Hamlet 2, My Hanh Nam Commune. While performing the task, a pickup truck with license plate 49C-296.01 crashed straight into the functional forces.
As a result, Major Nguyen Xuan Hao (40 years old, officer of the Traffic Police Team of Duc Hoa District Police) sacrificed his life and two civilians, Huynh Nguyen Chi Man (29 years old, residing in Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province) and Phan Thi Kim Thanh (50 years old, residing in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) were seriously injured and died while being taken to the emergency room.
Through investigation, it was determined that Nguyen Van Thanh (46 years old, residing in An Ninh hamlet, An Ninh Tay commune, Duc Hoa district) was driving the car with license plate 49C-296.01. Thanh also confessed to driving under the influence of drugs.
On April 27, the Long An Provincial Police Department decided to prosecute and detain Nguyen Van Thanh for investigation and clarification of the crime of murder. At the same time, the Police Department decided to prosecute and detain a number of related subjects for the act of illegally buying, selling and transporting drugs.
The Ministry of Public Security decided to promote comrade Nguyen Xuan Hao from Major to Lieutenant Colonel. In May 2023, the Prime Minister signed a decision to award the Certificate of Merit to martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao. In addition, martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao was also posthumously awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal by the President.
