Baby K's open burn wound shows signs of infection, and he had pneumonia before, causing him to have a fever and require long-term treatment.
The leaders of Children's Hospital 1 also said that the hospital is currently monitoring the health status of baby K to report to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health. At the same time, the hospital is also coordinating with the police to investigate the case of suspected child T.K. being abused.
As Lao Dong reported: On the morning of September 28, a man living near the rented room of Mr. N.Q.T (ex-husband of Ms. N.T.V - mother of child K) discovered that child T.K was severely burned and still locked in the house. Immediately, this man went to the police station of Ward 16, District 8 to ask for support.
“Fortunately, the police arrived in time to take my son to the hospital and took Mr. T. and his new wife back to the headquarters. My son is in the emergency room with second-degree burns. As a mother, I feel remorse and endless pain,” Ms. N.T.V. said in tears.
Ms. V. said that her ex-husband and his new wife were allowed to go home after working with the police. They have since left their residence. “I have filed a complaint with the authorities and hope that the police will clarify the case and handle it according to the law,” Ms. V. said.
The case of a biological father suspected of abusing his son in Ward 16, District 8 is being investigated and handled by the investigation agency.
