On the morning of December 7, Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee (Nghe An) held a conference to announce the decision approving the detailed construction plan at a scale of 1/500 for a resettlement area to serve the site clearance of the North-South high-speed railway project in Van Vien hamlet.

According to the plan, the resettlement area has an area of 38,585.27 m2, with 81 plots of residential land, social infrastructure and synchronous techniques, ensuring a stable living environment for households affected by the High-speed Railway Project. This area is adjacent to agricultural land, roads and residential areas, and will develop into a new urban area, serving long-term resettlement.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Ha - Chairman of Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee affirmed that the North - South high-speed railway project is a national key project. The implementation of the Van Vien resettlement area is an important task, requiring the synchronous participation of authorities at all levels. The locality is committed to implementing compensation, support and resettlement in accordance with regulations, ensuring the rights of people, especially households affected by agricultural land.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Ha also called on people to agree and closely coordinate with the government, and at the same time requested departments and branches to strengthen inspection and supervision of the project implementation process.
The 85.5 km North-South high-speed railway project through Nghe An affects 2,150 households, needs about 30 resettlement areas of over 100 hectares, with a total cost of 1,450 billion VND, with the goal of allocating more than 1,900 households.
