According to the plan, from September 2026, Long Thanh airport will begin trial operation and will be put into commercial operation by the end of 2026.
To achieve this goal, the investor and contractors are focusing resources on completing the passenger terminal, an item considered the "heart" of the project; in which priority is given to completing the construction and installation of terminal equipment.

Package 5. 10 construction of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal is constructed by Vietur consortium, started in July 2023, with a contract value of more than 35,000 billion VND.
Up to now, the contractor consortium has mobilized thousands of personnel, machinery and equipment to deploy construction, basically completing the reinforced concrete structure, steel roof structure, and glass wall elevation.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), on the entire component project 3 construction site, Long Thanh airport maintains an average of 7,170 direct construction workers. However, there is still a shortage of about 1,500 to 2,000 workers (concentrated in packages 5, 10; 4, 8; 7, 8 and 11, 5).
ACV said it needs about 9,000 direct workers and an indirect team to accelerate internal work and complete dossiers.
