According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of January 1, despite being the first holiday of the new year 2025, dozens of cadres and workers are still working hard and urgently on the construction of the key road project connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45 (from Hoang Kim commune, Hoang Hoa district to Thieu Long commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province).
This project aims to shorten the travel time in the East-West direction (moving from the western districts of the province through Thieu Hoa and Yen Dinh districts to National Highway 1), reduce traffic pressure through National Highway 45 and National Highway 217 to National Highway 1, serve the travel needs of the people, promote investment attraction in industrial parks, and contribute to promoting socio-economic development in the area.
It is known that this project has a total investment of more than 1,400 billion VND, with a length of more than 14 km, divided into 3 component projects. Of which, the component project of building Xuan Quang bridge over Ma river (connecting 2 communes of Hoang Xuan, Hoang Hoa district and Thieu Quang commune, Thieu Hoa district) is the most difficult.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong - Head of the project management team and investor supervision, Thanh Hoa Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that to carry out the construction of this bridge, the construction units encountered many difficulties, especially during the flood season, the Ma River water rose, affecting the construction progress.
"When the weather is favorable, the investor and construction units immediately speed up the progress, mobilize human and material resources to complete the items. Currently, Xuan Quang Bridge, with a length of more than 1 km across the Ma River, has completed over 90% of the work. We are continuing to work through holidays and Tet to ensure the completion of technical traffic before the upcoming Lunar New Year" - Mr. Khuong said.
Mr. Phan Dinh Sy (56 years old, from Ha Tinh, a worker at Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company) said that in carrying out the company's tasks and constructing this key project, not only he but many others also determined not to take days off, working through holidays and Tet to meet the schedule.
"On holidays and Tet, who doesn't want to go home to their family, or at least have a day off? However, when the company takes on key projects, we always make sure that there are no days off. Fortunately, when working on holidays and Tet, we receive practical encouragement and support from the company and other departments, which makes us feel warm and enthusiastic about working," Mr. Sy shared.
According to the workers who are participating in the construction of the bridge over the Ma River, with the spirit of working non-stop, working through Tet, they hope the project will be quickly completed and put into use on schedule, so that they can soon return to their families to celebrate the upcoming Tet holiday.
