On August 30, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) said that the unit had just received a delegation from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City to visit and send a letter of thanks to the officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police for supporting the transportation of donated organs.
Previously, on the night of August 23, the Patrol Team - under Department PC08, arranged 4 officers and soldiers to drive 2 specialized motorbikes to lead the convoy at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Here, traffic police officers coordinated with the medical team and doctors of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, leading the organ donation team (heart) donated by Mr. N.D.T (Mr. T had a brain-dead accident), transported from the Xanh Pon General Hospital (Hanoi) to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for organ transplant surgery to save a person.
At around 11pm, in the middle of a night rain shower, when the flight landed, the traffic police officers leading the delegation deployed a escort plan, coordinating with more than 50 officers and soldiers from other units of the City Police present at intersections along the route, supporting the protection of the organ transport delegation.
The distance from Tan Son Nhat Airport to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital is not too long, but there are many intersections with heavy traffic density, and the weather at the time of the transfer was not favorable. However, thanks to careful preparation and effective coordination between units, the convoy carrying the special "gift" overcame all obstacles in the shortest time possible, in time for doctors and nurses to perform the life-saving organ transplant that same night.
Up to now, the cross-Vietnam heart transplant has achieved initial success, the patient is gradually recovering after surgery.
It is known that, besides the heart transplanted to a patient in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. N.D.T's liver has brought new life to a patient at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. His two kidneys were transplanted to patients at Xanh Pon Hospital, and his corneas were transplanted to patients at 108 Central Military Hospital.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, on behalf of the hospital staff, patients and their families, sent the Traffic Police Department the most sincere thanks, thanks to the professional coordination and high sense of responsibility of the Traffic Police officers who contributed to helping the doctors and nurses complete their tasks, bringing the opportunity to open up a new life for the patient.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital hopes to continue to receive support from the Traffic Police force in future tasks, joining hands to bring good things to the people and society.
