Graduated from university, enlisted in the army
On the morning of February 14, localities in Quang Binh province simultaneously held a military handover ceremony in 2025, sending young people off to perform their military service and the service of the People's Public Security.
Citizen Tran Tien Phi (Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province) has just completed his study program at Duy Tan University and is proud to join the army, fulfilling his sacred duty to the Fatherland.
After more than half a year of graduation, Phi decided to temporarily put aside her personal plans to wear her military uniform.
"This is not only a responsibility but also the pride of youth. I am willing to practice and contribute to become more mature in the military environment," Phi shared.

Pride in the young soldier
In the cold and rainy weather of the second morning of February, Ms. Phan Thi Hanh (80 years old, residing in Quarter 7, Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City) quietly sat on a plastic chair, her eyes not leaving her grandchild - rookie Le Quang Van (23 years old), who was about to join the army.
On the morning of February 14, in harmony with the atmosphere of the 2025 military handover ceremony in Quang Binh province, Dong Hoi city organized a sending off of more than 100 new soldiers to perform military service and People's Public Security service. Many relatives and friends were present to encourage and bid farewell to the young soldiers before leaving.
Mrs. Hanh said that Van had lived with her since she was a child. The family has a military tradition, from her husband to her son who was a soldier. Even Van's younger brother has completed his military service. Therefore, when she expressed her desire to continue the tradition, she did not hesitate but completely supported.
"I want to be here to encourage my grandchild. Seeing my grandchild in military uniform makes me both proud and emotional," she said.
Among the new recruits preparing to join the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command, Van occasionally looked back at his family, where his grandmother was still watching. "The two years will pass quickly, I will try to complete the task and return soon to continue to serve you," Van shared, his eyes full of determination.

In this military recruitment, Quang Binh province handed over 1,185 citizens to units under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, of which 951 young men joined the army units. The work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army has been implemented synchronously, closely, and in accordance with regulations, thanks to which the quality of young people who are admitted has many positive changes.
In order to encourage the spirit of new recruits, all levels, sectors and organizations in the province have organized meetings and presented gifts with a total value of more than 5 billion VND. Of which, there are 29 savings books worth 165 million VND, 12 breeding cows worth 132 million VND donated to young people in especially difficult circumstances.
The rate of young people with health level 1 and level 2 accounts for more than 75%; nearly 70% have graduated from high school; 41 young people have intermediate, college, and university degrees.
