Hanoi voters requested the city to announce the roadmap for implementing the policy of limiting vehicles using fossil fuels (gasoline and oil vehicles) into major cities.

Voters in Quang Minh commune, Hanoi City reflected that in the context of Vietnam orienting to limit vehicles using fossil fuels (gasoline cars, oil cars) in large cities, in order to protect the environment, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement international commitments on sustainable development, the implementation needs to ensure compliance with the socio-economic conditions of the country, while protecting the legitimate rights of people and businesses.

On that basis, voters requested the Hanoi City People's Committee to announce a specific roadmap for implementing this policy in the city.

Hanoi City People's Committee answers: Currently, the City People's Committee is assigning the Department of Construction to develop a resolution of the City People's Council on a number of policies and measures to support the conversion of road transport vehicles using clean energy in Hanoi City to implement the Capital Law.

The draft Resolution currently mentions the following policies: Financial support policies; Policies on fees, charges, and service prices; Measures to limit the use of road vehicles emitting environmental pollution; Measures to increase the price of parking services for road vehicles using fossil fuels; Policies to support investment in the development of a public clean energy substation system.

After being approved, promulgated, and implemented, the Resolution will contribute to the implementation of the Central Government's orientation on limiting vehicles using fossil fuels (gasoline cars, oil cars) into the inner city to protect the environment, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ensure compliance with the socio-economic conditions of the country, ensuring the legitimate rights of people and businesses.
