According to information from the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) on November 19, in 2024, EVNSPC has focused resources on investing in the construction of power grid projects, aiming to ensure the supply of electricity to serve socio-economic development in the management area with increasingly high quality. In particular, the 110kV Long Thanh Airport Transformer Station (TBA) Project and the connecting line is a particularly important project, supplying electricity to the national key project Long Thanh International Airport Project.
According to EVNSPC, following the policy of "Electricity leading the way", as soon as the Long Thanh Airport Project started construction, EVNSPC directed Dong Nai Power Company Limited to coordinate with Vietnam Airlines Corporation to record and evaluate the electricity demand of each phase, thereby having a timely electricity supply plan. Up to now, the electricity supply for airport construction activities has always been safe, stable and continuous, from 2 sources: Binh Son 110kV transformer station and Cam My 110kV transformer station.
To prepare the best power source for activities during the construction investment process as well as when Long Thanh Airport comes into operation, in June 2024, EVNSPC, Dong Nai Power Company Limited started the Long Thanh Airport 110kV Transformer Station (TBA) Project and connecting lines, with a total investment of 119 billion VND.
In the first phase, the project will install 1 transformer with a total capacity of 40MVA. The line section includes 2 circuits with a total length of 3.8 km. In the second phase, a second transformer with a capacity of 40MVA will be installed, bringing the total capacity of the 110kV Long Thanh Airport substation to 80MVA.
When put into operation, the 110kV Long Thanh Airport Substation will promptly meet the electricity demand for the construction of the main items of Long Thanh Airport and provide safe and reliable electricity when Long Thanh Airport comes into operation, etc. Not only contributing to reducing the 22kV power supply radius and reducing losses, the 110kV Long Thanh Airport Substation also helps ensure voltage quality and improve the reliability of power supply in neighboring areas.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc, General Director of EVNSPC said: Determining the importance of the Long Thanh Airport 110kV Transformer Station Project and the connecting line, EVNSPC has made a plan and implemented it vigorously right from the investment preparation stage, closely coordinating with local authorities and contractors to speed up the construction progress. EVNSPC is asking contractors to focus resources on urgent construction, mobilizing more human resources to energize phase 1 of the project by the end of November 2024, ahead of schedule compared to the plan.
EVNSPC General Director Nguyen Phuoc Duc added that in addition to Dong Nai, EVNSPC is also implementing many projects in 21 southern provinces and cities to serve socio-economic development. In 2024 alone, EVNSPC plans to energize and put into operation about 60 projects to serve socio-economic development.
From the beginning of October to November 17 alone, EVNSPC energized and put into operation 14 110kV power grid projects. In the first 10 days of November 2024 (from November 7 to 17), EVNSPC energized and put into operation five projects: Long Binh - Dong Nai 110kV Transmission Line Capacity Upgrading Project, Vinh Thuan 110kV Interchange Expansion Project in Kien Giang Province, Truong Xuan Industrial Park 110kV Station and Connection Line in Dong Thap Province, Long Dien 110kV Transformer Station 2 Installation Project in (An Ngai) in Ba Ria Vung Tau Province, Khanh Binh 110kV Station Capacity Upgrading Project (T3) in Binh Duong Province.
When put into operation, the projects have made an important contribution to meeting the load development needs of the region; ensuring the quality of electricity; contributing to attracting investment capital, promoting socio-economic development of localities.
