Chinese youth rescued after being swept across the border

    Ha Giang - A Chinese national was swept away by floodwaters at the Thien Bao border gate.

    On November 13, information from Thanh Thuy International Border Gate Border Guard Station (Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang) said that this unit had just rescued a Chinese victim in the border area.

    Earlier, on the morning of November 12, authorities received a report from the Tianbao Immigration Border Control Station (China) about a citizen in distress.

    Immediately afterwards, officers from the Thanh Thuy International Border Post launched a search. The victim was found floating in the water, 500 meters from the Thien Bao – Thanh Thuy border bridge. The victim was then brought safely to shore.

    Through verification, this person's name is Tu Phong (residing in Yunnan province, China), was swept away by water at the border gate area. At the same time, Thien Bao Hydropower Plant released water, sweeping the victim to the border bridge area.

    The victim has now been handed over to the Chinese side.
