Successfully rescued 5 fishermen, one person still missing at sea

Quang Binh - A local fishing boat sank at sea, 5 fishermen were rescued, one person is missing and is being searched for.

On March 2, Gianh Port Border Guard Station (Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard) said that it had safely received 5 fishermen on fishing boat QB 33180-TS in distress at sea. Currently, one crew member is still missing, and the search is being urgently deployed.

According to initial information, fishing boat QB 33180-TS is owned by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Van (born in 2019, residing in Canh Duong commune, Quang Trach district), captain is Mr. Nguyen Hoang Van (born in 1989). While fishing, the ship sank at 5:00 a.m. on March 2 at coordinates 17°52N-106°55E, about 26.5 nautical miles east of Gianh Gate.

When the boat sank, the 6 crew members clinged to the life buoy. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Van swam to fishing boat QB98599-TS captained by Mr. Nguyen Hai Hoang (born in 2006, residing in Ba Don town) nearby for help. Immediately afterwards, the QB98599-TS ship returned to search and discovered 4 crew members on the fishing boat QB92272-TS rescued by Mr. Phan Cong Son (born in 1989, residing in Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district).

crew member Nguyen Duy Dung is still missing. The Provincial Border Guard Command issued a notice, calling on ships in the area to support the search.

At 3:00 p.m. on March 2, the QB98599-TS ship had brought the 5 crew members in distress to the Gianh Port Border Control Station safely. Currently, the health of the crew members is stable, while the search for missing people is still continuing.
