From March 1, Da Nang City Police officially deployed a new management model, dissolving district-level police (except for police stations) and establishing 4 management areas. On February 27 and 28, more than 100% of officers and soldiers subject to mobilization and rotation were reviewed, evaluated and will receive decisions on work assignments.
This restructuring is carried out according to the decision of the Minister of Public Security. Temporarily, Da Nang City Police will take over all functions and tasks of the district-level police. After stabilizing the organization and having detailed instructions from the Ministry, some tasks will be decentralized to the commune-level police.
4 management areas were established, not following the old administrative boundaries, including: Area 1 (Hai Chau district), Area 2 (Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts), Area 3 (Cam Le and Thanh Khe districts), and Area 4 (Lien Chieu district and Hoa Vang district). 7 working headquarters are arranged at the old district and county police headquarters.
To ensure security and order and administrative work during the transfer period, Da Nang City Police have increased their combat duty since February 18. The establishment of 4 new management areas is expected to improve operational efficiency, streamline the apparatus and better meet the needs of security and order in the city.
