According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province, it is expected that in mid-August 2025, the locality will start harvesting durian.
Dak Lak is currently the country's durian capital with 38,800 hectares. Of which, 22,600 hectares are being harvested.
The durian output in 2025 of Dak Lak province is expected to reach 400,000 tons, an increase of about 100,000 tons compared to last year.
The province currently has more than 260 growing areas with 7,400 hectares granted export codes - accounting for nearly 33% of the harvested area. Along with that, 39 fresh durian packaging facilities and 11 frozen durian units have been granted export codes by China.
This year's durian harvest of Dak Lak province is forecast to have many difficulties. Because recently, some durian shipments of other localities when exported have been returned by China.
The reason is that durian does not meet quality requirements (Cadimi vitamin and O gold). This incident has greatly affected the economy and reputation of the durian industry in Vietnam.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province recommends that units in the durian industry chain implement solutions to ensure food quality and safety for domestic consumption and export.
In particular, the Department requires durian purchasing, processing, processing, and packaging establishments to comply with regulations on food safety.
The establishments are absolutely not allowed to use banned chemicals, chemicals not on the list during the process of processing, processing, and packaging durian. Ensure traceability according to regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province also requested that facilities must conduct general cleaning, disinfection of factories, warehouses, and transportation vehicles to ensure thorough treatment of O gold.
The time for completion and sending a report confirming that the warehouse no longer has any remaining O gold before July 25, 2025. During this time, there will be supervision by functional agencies and local authorities.
