Dak Nong - Dak R'lap district authorities have been implementing many solutions to help people improve their lives and escape poverty sustainably.

Policy makers must have a good grasp of the area.

According to statistics from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak R'lap district, in recent times, sustainable poverty reduction work in Dak R'lap district has been deployed, implemented drastically, synchronously and achieved many positive results.

By the end of 2023, the whole district still has 468 poor households (1,836 people). Of which, the number of poor households among ethnic minorities is 161 households (765 people).

It is expected that by the end of 2024, the number of poor and near-poor households in the district will continue to decrease, and the lives of people, especially ethnic minorities, will improve.

Typically, Kien Thanh commune has left many marks in the process of implementing the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025.

Accordingly, the authorities have carefully reviewed and created conditions for the poor to access and benefit from policies and resources aimed at production development. From there, creating stable livelihoods, increasing productivity and income for people to escape poverty sustainably.

Ms. Truong Thi Hanh - Vice Chairman of Kien Thanh Commune People's Committee shared: "Policy officers must understand and master the locality, and understand the customs and practices of the local people. From there, officers can know what the people need and have solutions to create conditions to help people escape poverty sustainably."

According to Ms. Hanh, to effectively implement the national target program, the commune has organized exchanges to learn from experiences with localities in the district and province.

The Commune People's Committee also organizes training courses on science and technology transfer to help poor and near-poor households access information and science and technology to apply in production.

Thereby, changing people's habits of raising livestock, growing crops, doing business... effectively developing the economy.

Continuous learning to effectively reduce poverty

In mid-July 2024, the working delegation of Dak R'Lap district led by Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Secretary of the District Party Committee had a study session and exchanged experiences in implementing 3 national target programs in Trieu Son district (Thanh Hoa province).

At the meeting, leaders of Trieu Son district shared experiences and good practices in implementing 3 national target programs in recent times.

Both sides agreed to continue to have exchanges in the coming time on implementing the programs to achieve the best results.

According to Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Secretary of Dak R'Lap District Party Committee, Dak Nong Province, the experience learned in Trieu Son District has very high practical value. Because the implementation of 3 national target programs in the district in the past time encountered a number of difficulties and problems.

Especially in the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025.

In 2025, from existing experiences, combined with learning models from other localities, we will focus on widely and effectively implementing national target programs.

In particular, Dak R'lap district also focuses on encouraging good, creative and innovative ways of doing things by policy officials.

"With the tireless efforts of the entire political system, the work of sustainable poverty reduction for local people, especially ethnic minority households, has achieved many positive results. In particular, the material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved, the economy is increasingly developing" - Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Secretary of Dak R'Lap District Party Committee happily said.
