Awakening the power of the people
In recent times, Dak Song district has vigorously implemented the new rural construction program and achieved many impressive results, contributing to changing the local appearance and improving people's lives.
Currently, the whole district has 21,006 households with 85,551 people (according to data from Dak Mil - Dak Song Statistical Office). The number of poor households has decreased significantly, to 398 households (accounting for 1.89%), a decrease of 194 households compared to before, exceeding 137% of the plan assigned by the province...
People's lives have also been significantly improved, with an average income per capita of 60.8 million VND/year. More encouragingly, thanks to good propaganda work, the awareness of cadres, party members and people about new rural construction has had positive changes.
The idea of waiting and relying on the State is gradually being eliminated, creating a great driving force for sustainable local development.

Currently, people are confident, unanimous and proactive in participating in the construction of new rural areas with a spirit of self-awareness and responsibility. In the period of 2022-2024, Dak Song district has mobilized more than 75 billion VND from budget sources to implement this program.
On the part of the people, they voluntarily contributed resources, donated land, and contributed labor days with a total value of 1,455 billion VND. Up to now, Dak Song district has 6/8 communes meeting new rural standards, completing 75% of the set plan.
These changes have contributed to changing the face of the countryside and improving the quality of life of the people.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Quang, a resident of Dak N'Drung commune, shared that in the past, traveling to villages, hamlets and local production areas was very difficult. The roads were mainly dirt roads, steep passes, dusty in the dry season, and muddy in the rainy season, making it impossible for many vehicles to move.
"When it rains and is windy, only motorbikes with chains or farm vehicles and tractors can go," Mr. Quang recalls.
However, according to Mr. Quang, in recent years, authorities at all levels from the province to the commune have combined many sources of capital, along with contributions from the people, to upgrade traffic infrastructure, schools and village halls.
"Currently, the most obvious change is that rural, inter-commune and inter-district roads in Dak Song have been paved with asphalt or concrete, making them smooth, facilitating people's travel and promoting socio-economic development," he said excitedly.

Continuously building new countryside
In recent times, from various funding sources, Dak Song district has focused on developing synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring inter-commune and inter-regional connectivity.
To date, 98.08% of district roads and 95.36% of commune roads have been asphalted or concreted. 62% of village roads and 54% of alley and hamlet roads have been hardened. Notably, 100% of communes and towns have asphalted or concreted roads to the center.
Mr. Le Hoang Vinh, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Song district emphasized: "Building new rural areas has a starting point but no ending point."
According to Mr. Vinh, Dak Song district is currently focusing on mobilizing all resources to develop infrastructure, improve people's lives, aim for prosperity, happiness and build an increasingly civilized and prosperous homeland.
In 2025, the district is determined to bring Dak N'Drung and Truong Xuan communes to new rural standards.
