Homeland changes skin and flesh
Dam Rong District is located in the North of Lam Dong Province. When it was established 20 years ago, this locality had a rather low starting point compared to the whole province.
The first difficulty to mention is that infrastructure has not been invested in synchronously, roads are degraded, people have difficulty traveling, and socio-economic conditions still have many shortcomings...
Identifying the difficulties, the Party Committees and authorities of Dam Rong district have united and unanimously overcome the difficulties. To create a breakthrough, the district has focused on developing transport and irrigation infrastructure, transforming the structure of crops and livestock, and promoting vocational training for the people.
Up to now, according to the assessment of Dam Rong District People's Committee, the whole district has 8/8 communes assessed to have met new rural standards with 19/19 criteria.
Of which, Da Long and Lieng Sronh communes are completing their dossiers to be recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2024. Notably, three communes, Da Rsal, Ro Men and Phi Lieng, have met the standards of advanced new rural communes.
Da Rsal commune is considered a bright spot when it meets the new rural model standard for digital transformation by 2023. This locality is currently building a smart new rural commune model, aiming for sustainable development goals.
Coming to Dam Rong district today, one thing that is easy to see is that the village roads and alleys are paved with concrete and asphalt, and spacious houses appear next to lush green orchards.
Ms. Ro Ong K'Trim in Lieng Sronh commune shared: "Previously, the road to the village was just a dirt road. In the dry season, the leaves were covered with dust, and in the rainy season, it was muddy, making it difficult for vehicles to travel. Every time we harvested agricultural products, we were always worried about transporting them to the market for sale."
According to Ms. K'Trim, currently, the transportation system is being invested in, connecting villages with commune and district centers. The spacious and airy roads not only help facilitate the circulation of goods but also promote socio-economic development.
"Since the new road was built, trucks can easily get in and out, and agricultural production and trading of goods have become more convenient and effective," said Ms. K'Trim.
Not only stopping at traffic infrastructure, medical facilities, schools, irrigation systems... are also invested in thoroughly, meeting the urgent needs of the people.

Building a modern homeland rich in identity
Dam Rong district aims to build a sustainable and modern new countryside but must be closely linked to local cultural identity.
Currently, the locality is prioritizing the development of socio-economic infrastructure according to the criteria of ensuring green, clean and beautiful. Continuing to promote high-tech agricultural production, increasing the value of agricultural products to help people improve productivity and income on an area...
According to Mr. Tran Duc Bac - Vice Chairman of Dam Rong District People's Committee, after many years of implementing the National Target Program on rural construction, the locality has achieved many encouraging results.
Up to now, the rural appearance of the communes has changed a lot in the direction of modernization but has not lost the local ethnic identity.
Infrastructure systems such as roads, electricity, schools, markets, cultural facilities... are built and increasingly improved and modernized to meet the needs of people's lives.
According to Mr. Bac, Dam Rong district identifies new rural construction as a journey without an end point, with the goal of building an increasingly prosperous homeland, with prosperous and happy people.
"The biggest wish of the district is that the material and spiritual life of the people will be increasingly improved, the economy will develop more and more, culture and society will be increasingly enhanced, and the socio-political system will be maintained" - Vice Chairman of Dam Rong District People's Committee Tran Duc Bac said.
