On the evening of July 19, Mr. Dang Huu Phuc - Chairman of Duy Xuyen Commune People's Committee - confirmed to Lao Dong that the fire appeared since the morning of the same day in the acacia plantation on the hill in the old Duy Son area.
After many hours of active firefighting, the on-site force temporarily controlled the fire. But in the evening, the fire suddenly broke out again due to strong winds, spreading quickly, burning down more than 2 hectares of acacia forest.

Dozens of officers and soldiers along with fire trucks and rescue forces were mobilized to the scene. However, the approach work encountered many difficulties due to the difficult terrain of steep hills and high mountains. In the dark, the fire was still burning fiercely, spreading to a large area, creating a column of bright red smoke in the middle of the mountain slope.
According to local people, from afar, you can see the fire covering a large area, the light from the fire burning into the night sky.

According to Mr. Phuc, the initial cause was determined to be that people were unable to control the fire during the cleaning and incineration process, leading to the fire spreading into the forest.
The authorities are urgently investigating and deploying drastic response plans to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring areas.
Local authorities recommend that people absolutely do not arbitrarily burn firewood during hot weather and strong winds to avoid the risk of fire.
