At noon on February 27, An Giang Provincial Police issued information about the truck fire on National Highway 91 and said they were directing functional units to urgently verify and investigate the cause of the fire.
According to initial information, at around 6:10 a.m. the same day, at Km83, National Highway 91, Group 2, Binh Hung 2 Hamlet, Binh My Commune, Chau Phu District, An Giang Province, a truck fire broke out, burning all the goods.

The truck with license plate 67C - 038.98 was driven by driver Vo Ky Mao (born in 1987, residing in Khanh Hoa commune, Chau Phu district, An Giang province) carrying goods (paint water, clothes, paper...) from Ho Chi Minh City to the above area and then stopped to rest. While resting in the cabin, Mr. Mao was informed by local residents that the back of the truck was on fire, so they called for firefighting.

Immediately after receiving the report, Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 (under the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police) coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Team of Chau Phu area (under the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police) and Chau Phu District Police to quickly go to the scene to regulate traffic, divert traffic and deploy fire fighting plans.
After a short time, the fire was completely extinguished. However, because the items on the vehicle were flammable, the fire broke out very quickly. As a result, the truck and the goods on the truck were completely burned down, fortunately there were no casualties. Initial damage is being counted by the authorities.
